Programme profile

In this programme you will develop competence in nursing practice. As a nurse you will plan, implement and develop your nursing skills. In your work you will provide nursing care, help, support and rehabilitation, operating flexibly in multiprofessional and multicultural settings.

Studying is based on a personal study plan and enables the creation of an individual career path. The practical training, which is an integral part of the degree, can be completed in our partner organisations [which include 5 UK universities], at the unit's own learning centre or in projects. This programme meets the strict quality requirements set in the EU legislation: a graduate of this programme is a Registered Nurse.

Programme content

The programme covers the following areas of study:

Basics of Nursing;
Health Promotion and Nursing in Public Health;
Family and Community Nursing;
Nursing in Different Health Care Settings;
Developing Nursing Expertise;
Research and Development;
Elective Studies;
Welfare Services.

Practical training, which represents one third of the Nursing Studies, is implemented in several phases in various health care environments. This allows you to acquire a deep understanding and a wide view of the different possibilities that a career in nursing can offer. Part of the practical training can also be completed abroad.

Progression

The degree is comparable with equivalent degrees in other EU countries. In addition, graduates of this programme have found work in Australia and the USA.
