National Higher Education System


Higher education institutions are either university-type or non university-type. University-type higher education institutions may offer all types of study programmes. Non university-type higher education institutions offer mainly Bachelor's degree programmes, but may also provide Master's degree programmes. There are 26 public, 2 state and 46 private higher education institutions.

Fees


Fees vary considerably though generally they are between €4000 and €6000 pa. They are significantly higher for Health Sciences programmes.

There are no grants or loans available from the local system

Application Process


There is no element of centralisation in the Czech system: you have to apply directly to the university of your choice, enclosing a dossier of documents, the contents of which varies from university to university. The admission requirements, processes and deadlines differ between institutions.

Some institutions, particularly in the Health Sciences subjects, require you to take an entrance exam.
