This programme is run at Windesheim Honours College [WHC], part of Windesheim University of Applied Sciences. Windesheim Honours College is a residential learning community providing a unique and stimulating learning experience. You live and study together with a select group of students from across the world in the historical centre of Zwolle in the Netherlands.

The programme prepares you for a career as an international project and change manager who can make the difference in tackling worldwide sustainability challenges. Think, for example, of climate change, human rights, global health and the circular economy. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are at the heart of this programme

This an international programme for ambitious students from all over the world wanting to pursue an international career as project manager. As a WHC student, you will obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Project Management with a chose specilaisation: Health, Urban Economics, Social Entrepreneurship or Civil Society.

At Windesheim Honours College, classes are small (maximum 25 students) so there is a much closer and intensive interaction between students and lecturers.The college invests in the process of "Learning by doing". It achieves this through case studies, mini enterprises, role play, business games and simulation assignments. These assignments are carried out in groups and focus on contemporary issues within an organisation.

Programme content


In Year 1, modules are focused on basic skills with courses such as Project Management, Research, Professional writing and business skills in modules on International Business and Finance and Accounting. Additionally you will be introduced to the concept of People, Planet & Prosperity in courses like History of Globalisation and Non-profit Management

In Year 2 you'll take modules such as Advanced Project Management, Project Teams & Leadership, Grant-writing and Presentation & Pitching. Additionally, there’s more attention for People, Planet & Prosperity, with courses such as Social Marketing, Economics for development, Global Challenges and Global Business Strategy.

You start Year 3 with the minor "Managing projects in a Globalised World". This minor is a combination of practice and theory. During this minor you will work in small and diverse teams on complex assignments from an organization in the Netherlands or abroad. Students have, for example, implemented and executed projects in Uganda, Kosovo, Ghana, Aruba, Hong Kong, Philippines and Chile. During the first half of the semester, you will prepare your plan and research proposal and engage in coursework at Windesheim. This is followed by an 8-week stay in your destination country, where you will work on your results. The semester ends with presentations and assessments at Windesheim. The second half of year 3 is dedicated to your chosen specialisation: Health, Social Entrepreneurship, Civil Society or Urban Economics.

You start Year 4 with your second chosen Project Management specialisation. After that, you will do your internship. This internship has to entail research, a research report and the results of that research have to contribute to the development of the work field.

Progression


The University doesn't currently offer any related masters programmes, taught through English, but 80% graduates progress to Master's programmes at other universities.

Three A-Levels and three GCSEs (Your GPA may be relevant to selection). Maths at A2 or AS preferred.

Six subjects at Leaving Certificate including 2 at H5. H. Maths preferred.
