Programme profile

The Academy offers a three-year Bachelor study programme and a two-year Master's programme in which you can specialise and focus on a particular area. Several optional modules are integrated into the programmes, giving students the opportunity to organise their studies in an individual and flexible manner

Your studies are not just about one-to-one lessons and several hours of daily practice. As a student you will be challenged and inspired by qualified teachers, guest teachers and fellow students. You widen your horizon by taking part in joint lessons, Friday bars and concerts. Active participation in the Academy"s study environment is decisive in making a fruitful study programme. As a student you belong to a certain department with a special sense of community. You have joint lessons within your area and instrument. You will receive extra offers of master classes, concerts and other things relevant for you.

Programme content

You will receive tuition in your principal instrument, or other area of study, and a number of supplementary subjects. Individual curricula for each instrument, or other area of study, are available.

All students receive training in teaching skills, including classes in body and movement, elementary music teaching, educational theory, communication and principal study-specific didactics.

Most students attend courses in a number of general subjects: music theory, aural studies, history of music and piano. In collaboration with Roskilde University, the Academy offers a special vocational introduction programme in the third year of study providing you with career guidance and instruction in basic professional skills: IT, basic copyright law, marketing and press management.
