Programme profile


The overall objective of the programme is to give the students a generalist approach to identifying, understanding, analysing and solving problems within international businesses and preparing graduates to take on executive positions. The study programme is taught entirely in English with a fully integrated and internationalised curriculum.The programme aims to give you a broad introduction to a number of economic, legal and organisational issues in the business community. Apart from business issues, the programme also considers socioeconomic aspects and the joint interaction between economics and business administration.

In specific terms, you learn to analyse the company’s financial problems and issues and develop business strategies. In addition, you learn about organisation, product development, international marketing and sales, project management and innovation. Furthermore, you obtain insight into the theories and methods used to understand the companies’ internal and external relations.You can choose your area of specialisation from 11 different profiles.

The first four semesters include all the compulsory modules within economics and business administration. From your fifth semester, you can choose to specialise within one of 11 profiles, create your own profile by choosing electives or study abroad at a foreign business school or university. The 11 profiles are as follows:

Entry Requirements


General Certificate of Education with examination in 8 subjects where at least 3 are A-levels, alternatively 2 A-levels + 2 AS-levels.Subjects to include A/S Level Maths and A/S Level History OR Economics OR Social Studies [or equivalent]

Leaving Certificate, showing at least 6 subjects of which at least 2 Higher Level subjects (at least Grade H5).

FETAC Level 5 Certificates and Level 6 Advanced Certificates will be considered for admission only to same study field as they would gain entry for in Ireland.

LC ubjects to include Hons Maths and History OR Hons Economics OR Social Studies [or equivalent]
