Programme profile

In this programme, you will learn about the basics in information and communication and acquire a solid knowledge of hardware and software development. You will acquire the skills to create solutions, that are technically workable and economically sound, and master structured approaches to analyse and solve a wide range of problems and issues.

You will be expected to complete a wide range of projects, which are an excellent preparation for industrial engineering tasks. There is a 20 weeks internship in industry.

Semesters 1-4: Algebra; Calculus; Signals and Systems; Introduction to Electrical Engineering; Electronics; Digital Circuits Computer Architecture; Digital Systems; Microcontrollers; Software Construction; Algorithms & Data Structures; Software Engineering; Data Bases; German Language; Communication & Presentations; Business Studies

Semester 5: Industrial Placement; Scientific Methods

Semester 6-7: Software Engineering; Operating Systems; Digital Systems; Bus Systems and Sensors; Digital Signal Processing; Digital Communication Systems; Two Elect ives; Bachelor Thesis


The university doesn't currently offer a related Masters programme, taught through English

Entry Requirements

3 A-levels + 3 GCSEs. Maths A-Level preferred.

IB students must present Higher Level Maths

Six subjects at Leaving Certificate (inc 2 x H5, one of which must be Maths). At least one subject to be relevant to programme you are applying for.

IB students must present Higher Level Maths




Note, there are no tuition fees but there is a semester fee of about EUR300, to cover admin expenses
