Programme profile


The Dentistry programme at Lodz is run over five academic years. Each academic year is divided into two semesters with a substantial winter and summer break. This programme is taught exclusively in English, and leads to a Doctor of Dentistry degree.

Year 2: Biochemistry; Computer Science; Conservative Dentistry; Dental Radiology; Emergency and Disaster Medicine; Ergonomics; Management and Economics in Dentistry; Material Science; Pathophysiology; Pediatric Dentistry; Physiology; Physiology of Masticatory System; Polish; Pregnancy Physiology; Rehabilitation; Electives;Summer training [dental surgery assistance]: 4 weeks

Year 3: Clinical Psychology; Conservative Dentistry with Endodontics (Conservative Dentistry); Dental Radiology; Emergency and Disaster Medicine; Functions of Oromandibular System; General Surgery and Oncology; Internal Medicine; Law and Ethics in Dentistry; Microbiology and Immunology; Microbiology of Oral Cavities; Pathomorphology; Pediatric Dentistry; Pharmacology; Preclinical Endodontics; Preclinical Periodontology; Prosthetic Dentistry; Social Dentistry; Summer training (general surgery, pediatrics or internal diseases; 2 weeks) and (manual dental procedures: 2 weeks)

Progression


This programme is recognised by the General Dental Council and Irish Dental Council for registration to practise as a dentist in the UK and Ireland.

3 A-levels inc two from Biology, Chemistry, Maths or Physics.

Six subjects at Leaving Certificate including at least two 2 at H4. Subjects to include H4 in two subjects from Maths, Biology, Chemistry & Physics
